What book to get to start a garden with different types of plants?

My daughter(left) and her cousin Asked by miomiomio 9 months ago, 1 answer.

I am looking to start a garden with a few different melon plants, strawberries, carrots, one lily type, saffron crocus, and a few ma huang plants. The fruits and carrots are all unusual (different colors than normal), but I would really love some advice...

before going and buying a whole bunch of seeds, as I really know nothing about growing plants.
Any ideas?
