well I read in a book called walk your way to being skinny or something like that and it said for women starting at 5 ft they should be 100lbs and add 5 pounds for everyinch... and for guys it would be adding 6 pounds for every inch after 5 ft.. so for you , it would be 145lbs...

Everybody's frame is different, so you can't take Body Mass Index calculations without a grain of salt, but I'd say anywhere from 130 to 160 pounds is perfectly normal. 170 would be a tad overweight, and 125 would be underweight.

I don't really agree with that book because that would mean that a woman who was 5'11 and weighed 155 pounds is the "ideal weight." While it would still fall in the range of "normal" weight (I.e. she wouldn't be considered underweight or overweight), she could still gain at least 15 pounds and still not be considered overweight. Of course it depends on her frame and everything, but still. A woman who is 5'11 at 155 is not necessarily "healthy," and would likely have that "too skinny" look, kind of like a nicole richie thing. The weight falls within "normal range" but that normal range would go from 155 to 170 for that height.

I'm 5'9'' too. Anything from 130 to 160 is good. Anyway it also depends on your body frame I'm very curvy so I weight 157lbs but my friend who has a more boyish figure is 135lbs we both are ata healthy wight and on the body mass index. Talk to your doctor if you want to make sure though

130-135 isn't bad weight for you, since you are tall... I mean for me im 5ft and I weight 127 so im over weight.. I have to be between 94.4-110.. I want to be 105-110...
