Where are good places to volunteer?
My mom decided that for the weekend
We'd go out and help where help was needed.
Anyone know!?

An animal shelter.

The dogs and cats there are unloved, unwanted and often hardly ever touched. Going and just interacting with them will brighten their day.

If it was me I'd pick an animal shelter - there's tons to be done there.

Animal shelters.
If you don't have any that are near enough to drive or walk to, try out something with kids. Maybe at a hospital or something? Also, maybe volunteer as a recycling "dump".

Soup kitchens and food distribution centers.

        Simply a Rose to brighten your day,
        And maybe lessen the cares in your way;
        And also, too, to help you to know,
        That in knowing you, many others grow!

Salvation Army - Red Cross - Rescue Missions - visiting assisted living or nursing home - many never get any visitors at all - can be VERY rewarding !!
