Virus on desktop

I have a virus on my dest top computer, I would like to know how to get rid of it.
Can you tell me procedure to do this ...thank you.

purchase or download a reputable virus protection program and allow it to scan your computer

get bitdefender 2008 , it is the best internet security program , and if you want to the licence I'll give it to u , since I got it , I have not had any problems with viruses

avg is free and reliable, or if you know how to download off torrent, you can get a really good one, kasperskys my favourite.

Spybot search and destroy.

ESET - NOD32 Anti-virus, be sure that you update your anti-virus everyday.
