There's certainly not the same proliferation of Nam games as there are WWII games, but it's an oversimplification to say there's none. There's Vietcong 1 and 2, Battlefield Vietnam, MoH Vietnam, Men of Valor, etc.
I don't think Vietnam games are ever going to be very popular, however, because unlike WWII, which was America's last great moment to truly be the hero, Vietnam was a messy, complicated conflict with no clear moral purpose, a war that most people would just as soon forget.
Without a doubt, but WWII is held in the American psyche as the ultimate military triumph of good over evil, and thus will always be wankingly glorified in film and literature and gaming, deservedly or not. I'd be highly suspect of anyone who said that German citizens remember WWII with the same rosy fondness.

How come there is no video games based on the vietnam war yet there is a lot of movies?
