Video camera problem

I have to do a school video project. I need to edit it. I have tried using windows movie maker but my itunes music does not appear on there...I cant get it on there. But my major problem is that I cant get my video from my digital camera onto the windows movie maker. does anyone know what I can do? my video wont import onto it I guess. or does anyone have suggestions for other movie maker I can download that is better?

It would depend completely on the filetype that your video camera saved your project as. Do you know the file name / extension?
