Is its true that you do not need soap to keep yourself clean. I understand that only warm water is needed.
Soap does irritate and I have a small scaring inside. please help if anyone has or knows the answer

My gynecologist told me that douching is very bad for your vagina. It strips away all the natural bacteria that you NEED. She said instead use either just plain water or unscented soap as this is normally less irritating for your vagina.

try vaginal wipes...you can get them at most drug stores...

or use warm water and a MILD soap...I'd recommend Dove or a light bodywash...hope this helps out...

true, you dont need soap
its fine for the rest of your body, but not for down there
your vagina is a self cleaning organ
thats what discharge is, your vaginas way of cleaning itself
so you really dont need to clean it
and DONT douche
its bad for you and usually encourages the spread of diseases and infections

jazlovestoskate, I think this person might be worried about a yeast infection possibly...so cleaning is probably in order, but using a extremly mild soap and warm water...and douching I agree is a very very bad idea...

if all else fails use a wash cloth and warm water if nothing else and just sort of cleanse it gently...okay?

There is also a mild soap specifically for use down there. Summers Eve, it comes in a few different kinds I've used it for a long time and so has my mom, it gently cleans really well.
