hi, I'm 13, and periodically, I get these UNBEARABLE pains in my side. it's like right under my ribs, and I can't even move or it hurts so bad I start crying. recently my mother complained of the same thing, and right after, she found out she had to get...

her gall bladder out, but mine has been going on for longer. what is this and what do I do about it?

at your age it's normal. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it has something to do with the tissues in your body stretching and growing. I don't think what you're feeing is the same as your mother's, though I'm sure they both hurt a LOT. I still get pains like that sometimes, and I'm fully grown. I had them the most when I was about 12, and you're right, it really HURTS. Don't worry about it too much unless somethnig else goes wrong.

Sharp pain is NOT normal. Please seek proffessional physician care. SEE A DOCTOR
