can I become a firefighter as a convicted felon? the conviction was 14 years ago in paterson nj for drugs

Ussually when you are convicted for drugs and its been over two years, The emplyor doesnt even ask about it. Like on an applcation it would ask have you been conviceted in the last two years for drugs? You would put no and move on. you can be anything you darn please, Firefighter or something else.
