Throat infection and tonsilitis

For the past year I have had a VERY bad throat infection.It means I've had 2 take a lot of time off school.
I have been offered 2 have an operatoin 2 tke them oot but im 2 scared 2 have an operation. I've been on about 100 medicians before.

wondering if anyone no's any methods.
and if you have had an throat infeection cn you tell me how long you had it for?

I've got abnormally large tonsils (for some reason every doctor I have ever seen feels the need to point this out) and they keep getting infected. I am on antibiotics a lot to keep the infections under control. Apparently your tonsils help with immunity so doctors don't like taking them out. Uhm I've heard the procedure to take them out is pretty simple and you are fine in a couple of days (I'd take mine out, but it's pretty much a outdated practise apparently). I've had an infection for maybe a month before, lost my voice for two weeks...

Don't know how to help you, maybe taking them out is the best solution?
