Right I have got my tongue pierced and I am a wimp when it comes to piercings although I love it, I got loads. I was put off when I read stories on the internet then liked it then put off again etc - you know how it goes. But in the end I decided right I'm going to have it. If I don't like it, fine because I can take it out and it will heal but will be a loss of money.
I went to a professional parlour and they explained everything to me. Drew a little dot on my tongue after they looked at the major veins and asked if I liked where it was. After I had agreed I had to wash my mouth out with mouthwash into a sink they had there. She told me to close my eyes as she clamped my tongue with some tong thing. Next thing was this slight pain, I made some noises because it did hurt and I couldn't talk because it was still clamped. She quickly put a bar in, screwed it, gave me a mouthwash/water thing and spat it out with blood. The pain automatically went away. I did however feel kinda dizzy but once I was in the fresh air I was fine.
It affects different people. I couldn't eat solid food for 2 days. My speech was alright though. Many people have had muffled speech while it was swollen.
You are given a long bar. Mine was 22cm because the tongue wells. I now wear either a 12 or 16cm bar.
Hope this helps
it really depends on your pain tolerence
also dont get something because people tell you too, you need to want this
its a hole in your tounge
also learn about the facts of tounge rings
do go to a profesional, dont risk your health
they can take anywere from 1 month to 1 year even to heal
and its not advised that you change it for at least 3 weeks
only to put a smaller bar in
your tounge is a very important muscle of your body
so make sure you get it done right!
and if you have any questions ask your peircer
who should also be usuing a brand new needle and should open it in front of you
hope that helped a bit
I think I will keep the one they give me and my pain tolerance is pretty low and I know 2 go 2 a professional I would never get it done some where unsafe and I'm not watching them it it out 2 scared 2 even see it lol and I want it but my boyfriend thinks it would b hot cause I asked him what he thought about it
well do make sure you want it first!
because your the one whos going to have the peircing in your mouth!
the pain will only last for a few seconds
but if you want to get it, it shouldnt be anything you cant handle
they just put the needle through and then the jewelry and your done!
you might have to change it a bit later if they peirce it with a bigger peircing
they usually do that, and then you change it to a smaller one a bit after, so ask them
they should also explain a bit about the aftercare, if they dont just ask them!
and thats ok, you can close your eyes while they do it too!
but really make sure its something you want first, otherwise theres always other peircings you could consider!
Getting my tongue done was, to me, the easiest of all my piercings.
Make sure to have a bottle of listerine and some MIdol ready. Take the Midol about an hour before you have it done and then take it as directed for your age for a couple of days. It is a big help with the whole swelling thing. Plan on eating soft food for a couple of days. Stay away from Ramen noodles or Spaghetti O's though, they are not fun,lol Make sure to rinse your mouth with Listerine every time you eat or drink anything and again if you smoke. If you need any more tips funmail me.
omfg, DO NOT get a tounge piercing. they are sooo gross!!! did you no, that most people that get tounge piercing, they're toune swells up and gets all infected and gross. its not a good look. and I pass people in the streets will tounge piercings and the first thing I think of is, omg they have a tounge piercing, gross. it doesnt look cool, and if you want to get a swelled-up, infected tounge, be my guest. do not let people peer preasure into getting a tounge piercing. go for a belly-button piercing, that looks hot and is much prettier...
