Dear softwalk47,
My favorite line is what amblessed said "children learn what they live" and if they have seen any type of abuse such as slapping or throwing things they will no doubt pick this up. Children are born with a very clean slate and as parents we are responsible for what is written on that slate. If the child attempts to slap you in the face gently stop their hand and tell them no. They are too young at this age to understand reason but they do know the word no and perhaps put a little sad look on your face and say that makes me sad. This must be done every time the child tries to slap.
Sue...good luck
It depends on the child..I've seen well mannered parents with horribly mannered children, and vice versa. A lot of times it's what the child has seen, but many other times the child just has a mean streak for no reason. Yes, that is true no matter what people tell you. Some children just have a mind of their own. That child needs to be disciplined (not hit) and fast.

Do all 2 yr. olds slap people in the face, toddler problem
Do all 2 yr. olds slap people in the face, or is it learned from a parent? I do know for a fact the mother does hit her husband, and throw things at him?
