Why don't guys care about their weight?

How come guys do not care if someone makes fun of their weight and is not obsessed about weight like women are?

we like to weigh alittle more, because we like to have more muscle (it weighs more) and something in our brain just makes us care less. hope that answers your question.

men do care about weight just like women

With women it's about appearance. thats how they get "chosen." With men it's about how big their wallets are. A man who has lost his job will be just as stressed as a woman who has lost her looks.

According to evolutionary theory, women are chosen because of their looks (youth, vitality, makes best for producing with) while men are chosen for how well they can provide (dominance and wealth means they can take care of the women and offspring...)
That hasnt exactly changed much today... men are highly visual creatures while women will take other things into account

Because men have bred a society via the media that shows women to be almost impossible waif like figures via unhealthy models and the overuse of airbrushing on photos in magazines.

Women have been brainwashed over many yeras to aspire to the images that men portray as attractive.

A slight generalisation but one that I strongly believe in.

Looks are superficial and mearly an outer shell, true beauty comes from within such as a persons brain, heart and personality.

As one ages, looks fade far quicker than ones inner beauty.

Guys do care, they just hide it SO FUCCN WELL!
my guy is average weight, but when we're alone together he'll complain he has a belly, and he needs to work out more.

I just want to add one thing. I am skinny and I have always been skinny and into fashion. And I do not care what men think of my looks. I am skinny and into fashion because of me, not to appease men.

Please do not say women choose to look good for men. Most women these days wamt to look good for themselves.

Guys get over it

Women generally fell good about theirsleves when they are dressed up because they know that they also look good to others.

After all, you cannot see yourself. Using your point lover454, why wear makeup for example? After all, the wearer cannot see it.

However, they know that others can see it hence it make them feel good. It is no different when a guy dresses up to look smart before going out, so others can see it.

There is no shame here, this has been the way it is for 1000's of years but it is so ingrown, people do this as second nature most of the time.

There is a general feeling by men and women that the better you look in society ,the better society tends to treat you.

Actually the point about women not dressing for men is interesting. Years and years ago I worked in an office with about 6 other women and 3 men. I always dressed smartly - my hair and make up were perfect, my shoes were in style and I chose them carefully. Then the firm did a massive layoff and left me there all alone with the three men. I noticed that suddenly, I didn't care so much about what I wore. I didn't even care if I wore the same thing twice in the same month. lol. All that time I'd been dressing for the women in the department - not the men. So I figured that on a subconscious or primal level, LOL, I was competing with the other women... and once I had all the men to myself, I didn't have to bother. I mean, to a limit, of course. Just a theory.
