I know the tallest mountain on the planet is Mount Everest, but how tall is the smallest mountain in the world? Does anybody know how tall the SMALLEST mountains is?

..if you measure from base to top rather than from sea level to top, Mauna Kea is actually the tallest. The smallest is the fire ant mound in my back yard.

It's a complicated question because there's no standard definition of how high a mountain has to be. In England a mountain is generally thought to be over 2000 feet (about 600 meters). In Scotland it's 3000 feet. Everywhere in the world has it's own standard, so basically it's impossible to say! Although, in relative terms, the smallest 'mountain' would have to be in the Maldives, where the highest point is 2.3 meters above sea level...
