The birth control patch

My mom wants me to go on birth control (even though I'm not even having sex, she likes me being on it whenever I'm seeing someone). But last time I was on the pill it made my face break out, and half the time I forgot to take it. So I really don't want...

to go back on the pill. I've heard about the patch, but not that much information.

How does it work?
What are my other options (not depo)?

My face kept breaking out and when I went back to my gyn she told me that it was actually a rash I would get it checked out.. I'm allergic to whatever was in the pill my doctor didn't want to take a chance with the others.. So talk to your doc. Hope that helps
