GIRLS ONLY

Ok, I've had my period since I was 9 and I have been usin pads the whole time while on my period. My friend tells me that tampons are a lot easier and stuff like that but you can get TSS [toxic shock syndrome] but im not worried about that.

But honestly, im not really sure HOW to use a tampon. Sure their are directions but I mean, hearin it from a real person that uses them seems much easier

HELP!

Send this to a friend

Make a peace sign and hold your vagina lips apart. Insert the applicator until your fingers touch your skin. Push the cotton part in with the plunger. Pull out the applicator and dispose of it properly (plastic-trash, cardboard-flushable) Only the string should be visable and you shouldn't feel it inside of you. The top two thirds of the vaginal canal has no nerve endings. Also, when you insert the applicator, point it towards your tail bone. Your vaginal canal doesn't go straight up in your body. That is always what hurt me when I first started using them. Don't get upset if the first few don't go in right.

WELL, a lot of girls like to wait until they are sexually active to start to use tampons. It kind of goes in a lot better. Yes tampons are a lot easier but for a girl your age I would recomend to stay on the pads for a little longer!

Get a box and read the directions a few times. It's pretty straight forward. They are a lot better than pads, and you can't get TSS unless you leave them in to long.

I'm not sexually active and neither are my friends, and none of us have had any trouble, just try them.

I waited till I became more sexually active to use tampons, (I didn't really plan it that way, it kind of just happened) But I agree with kloazia86, it's a lot easier to make it go in. I never had any problems. I learned how to use em from my mum.

I think it'd be better you have your mum show you...(not litterally) just show you how the tampon works & what to do, what to throw away..etc. Rather than hear it from anyone on here. Cause I don't think we could show you : ) But good luck.

Make sure you put it all the way 'UP' or it will be 'UNconfortable' and you will end up pullint it out dry and it will be even more 'unconfortable' don't be scared to shove it all the way up the canel.
