What does "taking a break" really mean?

My girlfriend and I are "taking a break" since we are going through changed in our lived.

What does "taking a break" usually entitle to most people?

It means..you are not exclusive and you are giving each other space..some will not date another..some will view it as an open releationship.. what it really means is up to the couple who has agreed to their own interpetation of the meaning. if you don't know what it means..you need to ask your girlfriend and make sure you are both on the same page. Also others use the word break only as a way to break-up without all the pain and drama..you better have a talk quick!
