hey!! Asked by bigzander92 9 months ago, 2 answers.

Hey I'm in grade 11 and the work load is getting quite heavy now. I never used to study as much cause I cruised with a's through grades 8-10. Now I can't get the hang of it. I really need to be motivated. I set myself goals and everything. But haven't...

managed my time correctly. Could anyway please tell me some study tips/techniques and time management skills for I have lots of essays/assignments and really need to get into the habit of studying but don't know where to begin.
Thanks guys

-- break large projects up into many small ones. Especially if you have a far-away due date.

-- faced with a choice, pick the more difficult first task

-- turn off instant messenger. Treat yourself to chat time after a certain number of hours of work.

-- listen to classical music - it improves the brain

-- create a system where you can see a visual representation of each project and its due date, and the length of time it's going to take. That way you can prioritize. Pen and paper chart each week, or a spreadsheet, or a giant calendar on your wall, whatever works for you.

-- don't stay up too late. Research has shown that it's better to get up early in the morning and continue studying if you have to, than it is to burn the midnight oil.

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure others can think of more.

Don't procrastinate and spend lots of time looking over the essays for dumb mistakes and things like that.
