Studying in america?

Im am going to university next september in kent (Near London) to studie 'American Studies' ...this is a 4 year degree (with one year abroad in america).
The places I can choose to study are from these Universities:
- California
- Florida
- Indiana
-...

Kansas
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- New York State
- North Carolina
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Wisconsin

Quit a lot to choose from, but I was wondering if an american could let me know which state is the nicest or friendlyest, please?
