get a guitar teacher?
if your lucky like me, at school you will have after school music lessons.
you can also go in at breaks and lunches if you're bored.
I never do that.. but yeah.
my sister does.
or you could just go to your nearest drum centre - which normally have guitars too. or go to a little music shop - all them kinds of places have things like what you're after.

stellar, congrats on getting a guitar. What kind is it?

I started playing 5 years ago, I had a problem with reaching the frets too, and my nails being too long because im such a girl haha.

Put your thumb in the middle of the neck, that should help you reach all the frets, its not easy and it definitely takes practice.

As for the vibrating sound, you have to press really hard on the string and make sure youre not pushing the string down on the fret. It needs to be right below the fret or some where in the area between the frets, whichever is comfortable for you.

oh, it is really hard your first time!!! the best thing to do is get a good teacher. those online lessons are CRAP cus they cant tell you what you're doing wrong. and you'll be able to play really easily and really fast if you get a good teacher. good luck, I love playing the guitar, and I know you will too!!!

Practice makes you better, guitar playing is not easy to play only on the start but soon you familiar and your hands become softer you will know it will become easy at all. If I were you, I will start first to learn in acoustic before I handle an electric guitar, but its your decision...

happy guitar playing...

for reading guitar music, that's something you probably need to get a teacher for. if you don't care about reading music and just want to wing it (which can turn out phenomenally actually), search up how to play guitar on google or youtube or something and you'll be playing in less than a day.

and as stated above electric is MUCH easier than acoustic on your fingers, but generally you start out on acoustic because if you can play on that you can play on almost anything...guitar wise.
