How to put up with my parents?

Asked by fau 6 months ago, 3 answers.

ok... my parents are starting to REALLY p*ss me off... heres the thing...
ok, I wanted to go with my boyfriend to the races tomorrow, but my parents said that I had to babysit. so I said well, ok.. but can I go to the dance? they said no. I had to...

babysit. so I said what ever. then I asked if I could meet a couple of friends at the movies, they said no, and that once again... I had to babysit!! im sick of this! I have done all my chores and +more around here. I brought my grades up, I dont get paid for the babysitting I do. AND, a friend thats like a brother to me, is in trouble that only me and my "sis" have to get him out of. I havent been feeling myself lately, and I just need to get away from everything for at LEAST a couple of hours or whatever! Im starting to LIKE school because I can get away from this damn place!
anyone have any suggestions on how to put up with all of this??? its PATHETIC!

Be calm and straight with this issue and request politely to your Parents. Go with a positive approach and accept what they say . If they disagree with you then request again . And see what happens.

You're 14. That's a difficult age. You want to do YOUR thing while your parents want you to help them so they can do their thing.

Part of your responsibility is to help further the welfare of your family unit. Sometimes that means having to do things that your parents want you to do rather then being able to do the things you want to do. Don't worry about it too much. In another four years you will be old enough to grab the world by its tail and do as you want to do.

You may have not given them enough advance notice.

Maybe you could sit down with them and see if all of you could plan things in advance, scheduling on a calendar, so that you would have less conflicts.

I know it is hard being 14, but things really do get better.
