Why is he acting like this?

so I've liked this boy for a little over 4 years.
and he said hes always liked me theres just been someone else.
and recently we started dating.
and about a week after he told me one random night that
I didnt fit in w. his friends.
and between work....

his friends and me he doesnt have the time.
and bc I don't smoke pot&were two different people.
he just didnt want me bc of that.
but yet he said he loved me and after arguen he said he was wrong he loves me and he couldnt leave me.

and then the next morning after he told me he loved me and wanted to keep me he said he couldnt do it again he wasnt ready for a relationship. and he loves me but I love him way more.

what do I do?
is it my fault for liking him to much?

I think you need to accept that he doesn't want the relationship, and is finding it hard not to hurt your feelings. He's tried several times, but you've always talked him out of it or perhaps without knowing it, you've tried to make him analyse his reasons.

Take the hint, and dont make him feel guilty about leaving you. It's not easy when this happens and sometimes it's our ego... but let him leave, and you will find someone else who suits your more. In a few weeks, you won't feel so bad...

When two people are different and find this out after they have been dating...this is why we date. It isn't anyone's fault. Dating is the time to find out if two people fit together, if there are things that we cannot tolerated and if we argue too much or if we feel the same. So, he's told you he feels this isn't right for him and it isn't your fault. So time to move on, and shortly you will date again and will have to go through this period of finding out if you work out or not. Dating sometimes is rough but we need to discover who is right and who isn't for us.
