You dont only get cancer from smoking,
Though Smoking puts you at a higher risk.
If You Quit Now,Your lungs will regenerate and correct themselves over time.

No, if you quit smoking you cannot assume you'll not get cancer - unfortunately, cancer attacks many different body parts - there are many types - many spread - you will be healthier if you quit smoking but still doesn't mean your lungs are immune to cancer down the road - great strides are being made towards a cure - we can only hope it will come soon...I wish you the best !!

Cancer is not the only health risk associated with smoking cigarettes. There is also heart disease, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, etc. It also has adverse effects on your skin, teeth, hair, clothing, etc. Most smokers don't smoke totally away from the crowd either, which means your friends and family may have those same risks. They may get cancer from your second hand smoke while you remain healthy.

The risks are there. If you can, I would quit because it is healthier in the long run. You will not feel like you have to have something. You will be in control of your addictions instead of them being in control of you. You will save money, most likely live longer, and live a healthier happier life.

You may not get cancer, but is it worth the risk?
