me personally pot chills me down, it doesn't make me unmotivated what so ever either. if anything I'm more creative and more opt to go do some form of artwork.
for those who say it made you stupid and unmotivated hun thats not the pot at all. another example my sister, she's horribly high strung and you cant have a conversation with her without her having an emotional break down. she's been this way her whole life. the only time she really can have an in depth conversation is when she's high. you can't say thats cause she smokes that cause her to be high strung either cause as I stated she's been this way her whole life. it really helps a lot of people out. I truly dont understand why it's illegal especially when alcohol is legal. when drunk your so much more opt to go run into trafic naked. I just dont understand the ethics of america

Well im not a pothead anymore, but I used to be and I still do it for old times sake. Lets see, my IQ is 162 im 19 years old and going to school for Interior Design then Architecture. My highschool GPA is 4.2 in academic level classes, I also know how to desgin and build computer hardware and software, an A+ Certified network technician... The speed and things I think of are beyond imaginative to the average human. Oh I used to smoke at least a gram a day throughout highschool, and drink every weekend some week nights and week days (in between class).

To those younger people and others who are curious, I'm in a range of less then 1% of the population able to do what I do, so dont do what I do and think you will be the same

People smoking pot doesn't make them dumb - I have no problem with people smoking pot as long as they aren't letting it control them. Some people are irresponsible with it, but most are fine.

My main goal is to get people off of their high horse, like their better than people just because they don't smoke and smoking is so horrible... blah blah blah, STFU lmao... There is actually new research that shows marijuana only makes people have memory lapses, coordination problems and learning problems while they are HIGH. So if you are high, you might not want to take that time so study for your exams at med school but other than that go for it. Throughout my teenage years I smoked weed very reguarly and got all A's at a private school and trained seven hours a day to become an Olympic swimmer. I got severly injured and never made the Olympic team because of it so I went to Brown instead. Of course potheads can be smart! And all the potheads I know now and used to know were/are the smartest people I knew. They reguarly played chess, excelled in school, were dedicated to sports and hobbies, loved other people, did community service, and oh yeah, had a lot of fun high times.

You know, we're not saying that pot makes people dumb, nor am I saying that only dumb people smoke pot. A lot of smart people do, I understand that, but it's kind of like the whole blonde thing (typical stereotype). I have natural blonde hair and I am a stay at home mother of 3. Before that I was an accountant, this was after I graduated from college with honors. But because of my hair I fall into that "stupid" category. All I have ever said is that people grow up and don't want to have that fuzzy feeling anymore. The older you get the more you realize that it is really something that only "kids" do. I have never been on a high horse and thought that I was better than anyone else (I used to smoke pot). I now have children and I would never let them have a mother that is a pothead (I could never do that to them).

What I want to know is why is it wrong for some people to not want pot legalized? You have an opinion, so do I. What makes my opinion wrong? At least I have seen the world from both sides.

Pot doesn't make you dumb, and it doesn't kill brain cells. It does reduce motivation and social development while you are tripping. What is available now is much stronger than back when I was -um- growing up, and it's effects are almost opioid. IF you have the genetics of addiction you can get hooked on it. And then it can lead to depression, paranoia, and memory lapses. When the addict comes off of pot addiction, the bad effects will disappear.
There are going to be those who strongly deny that pot is addictive, and to many it isn't even if they are abusing it. But for the TRUE addict who has had enough and is ready to quit, go to an MA (Marijuana Anonymous) meeting and raise your hand and get a sponsor. Or else you will not quit. To get the phone number of MA, call your local AA (Alcoholics Anonymous).

I would not like to see pot legalized because it has been documented, in animal studies, that, while on pot, an individual's reaction time slows down.

Since being high on pot isn't as readily detectable as some other drugs, I wouldn't want to be at risk of a pot-head piloting a bus, taxi, train or airplane that I might be a passenger on.

Unfortunately Ethmer, according to federal drug studies, the dosage it would require to die from Marijuana is something to the tune of 3260 lbs at one time for a human. This, compared to cigarettes or even over the counter drugs like advil, is probably one of the safest "drugs" around. As well, the side effects are among the least, provided you dont try driving under the influence of marijuana (which could be fun, dont get me wrong, but your reaction time is most definitely altered) are, in the words of Katt Williams, "Happy, sleepy, hungry."

Sidenote, a good friend of mine smokes every day and has something to the tune of a 3.8 in the UC system and is at least as smart of me, but definately more hard working.

on a regular basis, and my grades haven't dropped, I haven't lost any motivation, I have a high paying job, a car, a 3.7 GPA. annnd I take extra colleges.
im sorry that some people do get "dumb" when they smoke.

weed affects different people in different ways. so while it might make YOU, or YOUR FRIENDS complete idiots. it may make my day a little brighter. haha

There are already laws on the books which make it illegal to drink alcohol within a specified number of hours before operating a plane, bus, taxi, train and ship, so I don't have to do anything about it.

There could be laws that restrict pot use just like they restrict alcohol use (like when driving etc...)

and there are quite a few pilots, bus drivers, taxi drivers, engineers, and ship captains that operate while intoxicated and disobey those laws...

It is about responsibility...not if it is against the law or not...

LoL I've been on a bus where the bus driver was mad drunk... I'd have rather him been high to tell you the truth. I've drove drunk, and I"ve drove high, and you're waaay worse off driving drunk... Though truth be told I should drive 100% sober, and I agree with that. And just because Pot is legal doesn't mean it should be legal to drive on pot... I agree with that... I'm glad to see so many people hit this post up, a lot of people think potheads are stupid retarded people, and thats half the reason it's not legal. sooo, people need to stand up and show the world how smart you can be and still smoke pot. and I know they say it messes with your coordination, but I play piano, and I can blaze up and actually play just as good if not better, and trust me I've been playin since I was 4, I"m playin complicated stuff. I usually excell in anything hand eye coordinated when I'm high, like riding a bike, playin video games, makin music... corse everyone is a little different, but I'm just sayin, people don't understand how it works in some peoples bodys. I got ADHD, and trees slow my mind down just right...
