Anything that isn't loud or have high energy is good to sleep to. A lot of doctors recommend nature sounds or the sound of static; something that has a constant rhythm to it.

Personally, I listen to a lot of ambient and trance music for when I go to sleep every night. I also listen to Steve Reich's music. He produces these strangely soothing classical-trance like tracks.

I wouldn't recommend Marylin Manson and that stuff, just because certain songs end softly and start out loud and listening to one can actually startle you awake.

I love classical music to calm me down. If you have a radio in your room, a great classical station is 90.1 on FM radio

Broadway, that would only work in your area. And, Legion, I love those noises too. I have to sleep with a fan on all year round because I love the noise. I can't sleep when it's too quiet.

I usually turn on "soundscapes" (one of the music channels on my cable)
or go to http://www.accuradio... and play some "textures"

They are usually new age-y type music but it's really soothing.

I also like to listen to rain forest sounds and waves crashing.

I play the flute and when ever I listen to it, it really calms me down. I have some CD's by James Galaway and Emmanuel Pahud. They really help me fall asleep.

When I cant sleep I usually hear Korn( the cd Issues), 3 Doors Down(The Better Life) or Marilyn Manson( Hollywood). In other words you can listen to bands or artists that have a low voice.
