Skin tabs

Asked by maribil over 2 years ago, 8 answers.

What would be the best treatment for numerous skin tabs on the body besides surgical removal? Is there an ointment or something that can be applied that I can buy in the drugstore?

Actually removing it seems to be the only option. But a doctor will probably overcharge for such a cosmetic procedure. You can attempt to remove it yourself. Wart freezing remedies might work.

****I don't reccommend this unless you have someone who knows what they're doing and you trust them****I had a light mole/skin tag that had a long stalk on my neck. It was bothersome because it was always rubbed against necklaces. I had a friend help me cut it off. We just froze it with ice cubes and made sure to have everything sterile. Then we cut it with a very sharp razor. It stung a little... but was no worse than getting a shot. At first it was bleeding like how when you accidentally cut yourself with a razor, but it soon stopped. I just made sure to keep it clean and bandaged. It healed fine - AND with no scar!

I found a product called DERMATEND- this is what I found. However I couldn't find it to purchase online.

Another method of Skin Tag Removal is an all natural remedy made from Bloodroot. This is an old Native American remedy for curing all kinds of skin disorders especially skin tags and moles. You apply it to the skin tag, put a bandage over it for a few days and the skin tags are gone. It is a pain free way to remove skin tags. This remedy was all but lost for more than two centuries but, it has been rediscovered just a few short years ago. Since then, this bloodroot remedy packaged under the name "DermaTend" has removed thousands of skin tags, moles, and even warts without leaving a trace.

Would an 'over-the-counter' wart removal kit (for freezing off warts) work on a skin tag/tab. I have one obvious one on my chest directly above the cleavage area. It is soooo annoying!!!!!!! Also, does it matter the size of the skin tab/tag per succesful removal attempts?

Read this advice today from a medical doctor who writes a regular newspaper column. He said that he doesn't believe in high priced treatments when an inexpensive, easy treatment is available.
He said to coat the skin tab with clear, colorless nail polish.
He said it works very well.

Whats a skin tab? O_o

Here's what works for me...
Tie a piece of thread around the stalk of the skin tab as tightly as you can stand it. Knot the end (I use a square knot) and cut the thread so that only about a half inch hangs down. Each day, your skin tab will shrivel up a little until it finally falls off (in over a week). Sometimes,it puffs up before it shrivels, but that's okay. You are depriving it of blood.
I have used this method many times & it always works!
