it is. and all the "hail mary's" in the world won't get you forgiveness. the only way to get forgiveness is to pray a prayer of repentance, and ask God for forgiveness for your sins, then go forth and live a good clean christian life. separate yourself from the catholic church. look at all the evil that is in the catholic church. the holy bible speaks of the "mother harlot church" this is the catholic church. they are leading people to hell by the thousands. good luck.

It depends on who you ask and how they interpret the Bible.

Many of the people may hate the Catholic faith. Hmm. Maybe they aren't comfortable with strict guidlines but that is no reason to hate our faith. True. Some have fallen and it has come out in public all for the purpose of hate. See how they pick on our faith? We aren't the only one's with sins come out to public. Remember the other preachers. I wont rub that in like the others have though. I don't appreciate it. It is said we would be persecuted in Jesus name. Okay back to your question. If you are a Catholic you are accepting the rigid guidelines which are tough to follow no doubt. Think for a minute. These things are all about self fulfillment and selfishness. Our faith challenges us to stay clean of worldly things and this is one of them. I hope you understand where self pleasure is not pleasing to Him. It is a selfish deed. I would advise you to pray when those weak moments occur. It will pass.

For a true answer look into the book of 1 Corinthians 6 verses 18 - 20 NKJV.
"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's" Any form of sex outside of marriage is sin but don't lose sight of the fact that we are to "bring our members into submission". That means we are to exercise self control. If you find yourself heading down this path again. Stop and pray for the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and go from there. Jesus died to pay a price for a debt we couldn't and one He didn't owe. Christ loves you. If you have problems with this area further then try going to a pastor or church that you feel teaches sound doctrine (biblical truth).

Dear dlong66,

No, we do not believe that "Hail, Mary's" will get you forgiveness. Forgiveness only comes through God's grace. We may pray the angelic salutation (see Luke 1:28, 42) to ask Mary to help us, to resist sin, perhaps to come to repentence, but that is it. Even in the sacrament of reconciliation, the forgiveness comes when the priest, _in persona Christi_ (taking the place of Christ) gives absolution. In this we obey the command given to the Apostles to preach and grant forgiveness in various formulations, including, e.g. Matt 18:10-20.

Yes, these things are sins. So are many other actions, such as stealing, gluttony, greed, excessive anger, violence, bullying, etc. etc. etc. But, the point of sin, if you like, is to realize it is wrong, and then to turn away from it and back to God. How do we do that? The sacraments, baptism or reconciliation, or even the Eucharist (if it is not a mortal sin), by praying to God for mercy (again if it is not mortal), and so on.

Well, according to the new pope, if you disagree with ANY of the catholic clergy, or do anything that they don't approve of... then your NOT catholic. "Pope Shitforbrains IX"
