Why do people push their religion on others?

bloodelves4ever Asked by thelawtman 7 months ago, 16 answers.

ok like the title says anytone else sick of people preaching to you about how you should live your life? Really if I gave a damn about religion and wanted to live that way I would but humans have their own reasoning and just because a jeasus freak says...

that some book that humans wrote to interpet life and make it seem like they actually have a point and to also shake fear into others to be good. does ot mean that ever single person is interested. according to every religion each relgion is the correct and all others are wrong so why does it matter because everone is going to hell than.

Sick of religion ? What if you stand back and look in awe of the universe and how the moon looks tonight, or watch a flower in bloom and realize that you are part of this and feel some joy that comes with that awareness. That is not religion and yet, it almost says it all.

I'm sick of people who constantly complain about how sick they are of religion. If it ain't your bag then shut your mouth and let everyone else believe whatever they want, y'know, the same thing you so desperately wish they'd let YOU do.

I don't like it when people push they're religion on you but I don't mind if they practice it and leave me out of it. I have sympathy towards you because I hate when that happens but be careful because there are religious people out there and some of them are scarey so try not to make too many enemies.

I dont mind if your just trying to help, but when I say no thanks.. I hope that people would leave me be instead of telling me I would go to hell .. makes me sad

But Kamex, there's no-one knocking on your door insisting that you shouldn't be religious. The original poster's point was, he or she doesn't want to be solicited to become a member of any church. I wouldn't like it either. For some reason we only get door visits about 3 x a year. And only on one occasion, did I have to get rude before the person left.

I really don't care if people preach their religions. I actually find it amusing. However, I do care when they pass laws and policies based on their religion, or try to force my kids to participate in their religious practices.

thelawtman -Jesus offers life everlasting...it is available to any who desire it. He will not drag you into heaven... kicking and screaming... won't happen. People offer, because they care about you. Not because they are telling you you are a bad person. Many people are very good, law abiding citizens... with great moral values, that they live by... however, they still need to be saved.

Jesus said that we cannot come where he is, without being born again.

We were all sinners... before we received salvation.

Organized religion cannot survive without converts. That's how they butter their bread. That's how they get money, membership (for votes and lobbying), and put legitimacy behind their beliefs. People who are fundamentalists honestly believe if they don't convert you, you will go to hell. So sad to say, for all these reasons it will never stop.

Silverwings is totally preaching man...I really hate it when people do that or consider you a outcast if you like a different religion...its all very stupid...people do it because they want to convert you into there faith they obvioulsy think the more people they can convert and make believe there religion is right the better it will make them feel...if more people believe then it cant be wrong, it must be right eyy...they suck ad should learn to shut up cause im tired of listening to everyone preach and carry on and try to convert people into a false faith.

I think its amazing, even on a board where you are critisizing them for pushing their religions they continue on if the best hypocritical fashion.

silverwings, I fully respect your beliefs. But you post something like that in here and you come across and superior and condescending to all us poor rotten folk who don't know any better and who need your guidance. I don't need to be saved from anything and I don't consider myself a sinner. This is exactly the point that thelawman is making.

I truely hope that whatever you believe in is what makes you happy. I chose to believe in God and therefore my true faith is in Him. There is no such thing as "false faith" when you truely believe is someone so great.
Just like no one person can make non-believers, believe, you can't expect someone filled with faith, love, joy and true happiness as to what is real to another person, just stop believing.
I myself have learned to listen to what people have to say whether I agree or not, and just let life happen, if there is someone in need of listening to what I have to say then I'm more than happy to share what I have learned thru my own personal experience with God. Too many people out there feel alone and unhappy that sometimes do want to here words of hope and that there is a better tomorrow.
