Hmm... are you referring to the valve stem on the faucet or are you referring to the shower head? A valve stem would take a stem wrench to remove without damaging and a kit to replace the worn parts or a new stem. The shower head is simple and is just threaded on like any other thing (lefty loosey righty tighty).
