May 23, 2008 -- Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama. "My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary...

somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out - Should this issue have been brought up ?

It was crass of her to bring it up. I think that there will be backlash.
I also heard that she very quickly apologized for the comment. Even she (or at least her advisors) realized her faux pas.

I didn't hear that quote from Hillary about the assasination of bob Kennity but, yes, this issue should've been brought up in the media.
I don't know why the media didn't include that. And, I certainly don't know why her husband Clinton who I despise didn't bring that up.

I just wonder if this was an honest mistake or a well-thought-out / plausible denyability / polled / trial-bullooned / purposeful, strategy.

It was a stupid statement. I do not think she meant it as "hey obama could be shot, so why should I drop out". But even the mention of such a horrific incident in our history when there is already a heightened fear for Obama's saftey was just plain wrong.

Actually after watching MSNBC all week I don't think Obama has a thing to worry about - those reporters would gladly jump in front.
