It means splitting the UK up.
Ie: Not having a United Kingdom, just having seperate countries; England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales..

The question should be: "Do Wales, Scotland, N. Ireland and the rest of the UK's holdings want to split from the UK?" I would guess the answer to be no, but then, I'm just an American

Well I'm Scottish and don't really consider myself to be British, I am Scottish first and for most. The difference would be phenomenal and it does matter quite a lot over here. A lot of Scottish people want independence from England and Britain because we feel like the English gov totally control Scotland. We are seperate countries anyway, but we're all run by England.
