Should someone be informed if a young teen gets a abortion?

I was recently asked to sign some petitions and one of them really made me wonder what other people thought about it...

The Issue: A girl as young as 13 can get an abortion. Should the parents be informed, or if that would make things worse for the...

teen by telling the parents, a judge? (It started because a woman's daughter died at the hands of a doctor performing an abortion on her without the knowledge of what her daughter was doing or the security of a good doctor.)

she should be able to if its her choice but her parents should ok it because kids that young dont have good judgement skills yet.

it should be up to the teen...because if she can come up with the money for an abortion, then shes suffered enough by spending it

A parents job is to look after the best interests of their CHILD - Parents should definitely know !!

it really depends on the person. som teens really cant tell there parents, but some dont and really should have.
the only thing you can really do is make sure teens have proper sex education and also learn about abortions before they have one, and know not to go and get a cheap back yard abortion.

it really depends on the girl herself..but to not make things worst it would be a lot more better and a relief for the girl to say it to her parents cause parents always knows whats the best for us.!!

Thats a tough one. The parents SHOULD know if the child is a minor... but it could force some frightened teens into an even more dangerous situation by them trying to induce an abortion themselves. I think a responsible adult should have to be with them (similar to a tattoo or ear piercing) whether it's their guardian or not.

We should beef up sex education and pregnancy prevention. We should become proactive instead of reactive!

I think it depends on the situation if the parents know or not. If the parents don't know I think a responsible adult should know about it and possibly be there with them. xx
