Should I sell an heirloom?

I am having a hard time deciding what to do. I have a beautiful diamond ring my grandmother gave me. It has diamonds on it that belonged to her and my grandfather. They have both passed away. My problem is My husbands work is very slow and I am a stay at...

home mom. We have no money and he doesn't get paid for awhile. There are two things that really bother me about selling it. First of all if my mother ever found out she would be devastated. The other reason is I used to be in a very abusive relationship. My boyfriend at the time was into drugs and he took everything I owned. I wore this ring and he always tried to take it. I protected it with my life. One time I even got a bruise around my finger where he was trying to rip it off, and I clinched my fist so tight so he couldn't get it.. I fought so hard to keep that ring and now that I am in a secure marriage with children and life is good, it seems so wrong to lose it now. I just need money and quick. I am so confused, I don't know what to do.

Don't sell it> Are there any family members that could loan you some money? Perhaps you micht offer the ring as security. But only if you have written papers that it is not a gift or not being sold to them. Good Luck Gino

Don't sell! Go work part time anywhere. Things will get better but your grandparents won't be back.
