Should I see a doctor for my bulimia?

Asked by eyekandi1992 11 months ago, 3 answers.

I am 15 and have had bulimia for the 5 monthes. I tried to quit it and was only successful for 3 weeks. I have relapsed for the last 2 weeks and last night told my boyfriend. He was angry and we talked it out and I'm going to quit bulimia for good. But...

do you think I can do it on my own? Or should I see a doctor? I really didn't want to let my family know and I'm scared that if I have to see a therapist and nutritionist, my family will all know. What would you do if you were me?

Well, I have been there. although with anorexia not bulimia.
Myidea would be for you to go and see a doctor, maybe go with your boyfriend, and discuss with the doctor how you can stop being bulimic. It's going to be very hard but if you are determined to do it you can. Also, the doctors is completely confidential so theres no need for your family to find out - unless you want to tell them. x
