Should I be her friend or not?

I have this friend (we'll call her Nic right now) and she is a good friend too. Now, she says I'm starting to act silly and stupid, which is kind of true. I have this other friend Kate, who been my friend for one year now. Nic says I starting to act like my Kate because Kate hangs out with a few gothic people. She told me that I have to chose between Kate or her. I chose Nic, but she told me that I can't talk to my friend Kate no more. Is she a true friend? Should I be her friend or not?

She may be doing what a good friend should do - looking after your best interests - find out her objection to Kate, then determine what's best for you...I wish you the best !!

She's not a true friend, if it makes you sad that you "can't" be friends with kate, and she doesnt care.
she obviously doesnt care about you if she doesnt care about how that makes you feel.

I think a friend that makes you choose is not a very good friend @ all, you shuld b able 2 b friends w/ whoever you want and no one shuld tell you who you can and cant hang out w/

like amblessed, has said... maybe she's just protecting you from being someone your not... but forrbiding you to talk to your friend kate... isn't a really friendly thing to do...if I were you..I'd talk it over with this nic friend of yours...and ask him/her why he/she dosen't like nic.

a true friend doesn't make you choose between the or someone else. You shouldn't b friends with Nic. they are not a good friend. Kate sounds a lot nicer and I bet she wouldn't make you choose I would deff. go with Kate... hope it helped

A friend does not give another friend an ultimatum like that. If Nic is really your friend, she'll still be your friend even if you hang out with Kate sometimes.
