I think you get used to the smell on your own head because it's close to your nose. After a while we stop smelling the perfume we wear too. If you can smell it yourself, that usually indicates its too overpowering for anyone else, so don't worry too much... I'm sure everyone else can smell your hair.

It's not really the shampoo that makes your hair smell good. It's the conditioner. I would reccomend suave shampoo and conditioner. It smells great and leaves your hair really silky and smooth.

"whoopsies" it's not the conditioner!!
I don't use the conditioner and my hair smells great!! I smell it all day at school!! lol
maybe you don't put enough shampoo on your hair when you take your shower??
maybe you can't smell your own hair, cause when you're used to a smell that you smell everyday, you won't smell it the way you used to smell it when you first used it.
but it feels good when you smell it!! you can also take a shower and imedietly sleep, it will smell fantastic when you wake up in the morning!!
and make sure that the bathroom smells good after you finish your shower! when the bathroom smells good, you should be 100% sure that you smell good!!! lol

Its just like perfume - you get immuned to the smell so you cant notice it on yourself anymore.

Find two brands that you really like. When you run out of one brand, buy the other. This will help with your lack of smell problem and prevent build up also. My favorites are BedHead (Orange one for moisture) and Catwalks Oatmeal and Honey. Infusium 23 works really well too.

k, all these people failed to notice the obvious, you said you wash your hair at night and in the morning it loses the scent, why not try washing it in the MORNING? I guarantee you will have nice smelling hair because going to bed with clean hair doesnt mean you wake up with clean hair. pillows smell like heads and sometimes we sweat in our sleep and this is a huge factor in the scent of your hair. if you dont have enough time to shower in the morning MAKE TIME. go to bed earlier so you can wake earlier and have time to get the nice aromatic scent you crave.

I love the smell of aussie, lol! umm...I don't know...just don't get pantene pro-v. it smells good, but it's honestly so bad for your hair.

You're used to the smell of your hair so you can't tell. It's like when you take a shower you don't smell anything but when you walk out and 5 minute later walk in, it smells good, right?

I shower at night before I go to bed and when I wake up my hair still smells good. I even straighten it in the morning, and when I'm done it still smells good. Try using different brands of shampoo and conditioner.
