Self confidence problem

I have really bad self confidence. I wont leave the house with out makeup or doing my hair. I don't know why. I'm not over weight and don't dislike anything about my body. I think it has to do with getting teased a lot a few years ago, but I don't anymore. I actually get quite a few compliments now, but I always think people are kidding. Any ideas on how to feel better about myself?

my advice is to feel comfortable with the way you look like and forget about those people who teased you because they were most likely jealous of you. if you get compliments don't think that those people are lying because I'm pretty sure they aren't. so just be yourself because that's who you want to be, not what others want you to be. hope this helped. lol :D

well when you see yourself in the mirror, do you like what you see? Its okay to do your makeup and hair but as long as you're not overdoing it. Trust me when someone gives you a compliment, they mean it! Don't think that they just saying it. I don't know anyone who would say it if it weren't true. Your own opinion of yourself matters more than anyone elses. When you dress make sure you're doing it because you like it - do not do it for others.

People make fun of others because of something they are uncomfortable with in themeselves. When we fear being judged, it is because we judge others, so we expect the same from them. Try answering your own question as if your best friend answered it. Don't be so hard on yourself. Practice toning down your make up, little by little, until you can handle being in public with no make up.
