Try a two inch long haircut that's spiked up and colored brown to black and colored brightly at the tips(green, pink, blonde, purple, etc...) ...it's cool. Also you could try the same style except with blonde hair (not colored at the tips).

For men I tend to prefer a blended mohawk, about 3-4 inches down the center blended to about 1 inch around the ears. Girls look great with long straight hair with a ton of textured layers and some long texturized bangs.

You don't have to have their exact hairstyle, just build off of it and make your own.
