How do I know if there's a bird in the egg I found?

august_set_blackdye Asked by nero about 1 year ago, 2 answers.

So I found this robin egg on the ground and I couldn't find a nest anywhere around. I don't know how to tell if the chick inside the egg is still alive; and if it is, how do I go about taking care of it?

Take a coffe can cut a small hole in the lid put a 60 watt light through the bottom and then place the lid on then sit the egg on top of the hole turn off the lights if its moving its alive then buy an heating blanket or buy an incubater at a farm store. I use to show chickens and hatche out eggs.

hey nero,
just leave the egg. I know its harsh but I tell you its nature.if you found it on the groung with no nest then it probably died. if it is alive the best you could do is go find worms and feed it.
