You can find STD's with a PAP, but usually they're looking for cancer cells and don't bother with the other tests

If you have any concerns you should let your doctor know

Actually, if you are between the ages of I beleive 15 and 35 then the pap serves as a test for a few key kinds of STD's. It is now a law requirement.

no
they test for cancer cells, that could result in cervical cancer
if they saw any stds it woulf nly be ones that show vsible signs...like herpes for example
but other ones like chlamidia (that can make you infertile if not treated) often has no syptoms, so a lot of them cannot be diagnossed from a pap smear,
you need to get properly tested fior them seperatly

Actually, chlamidia is one of the new STD tests that they do when giving a pap smear.

It's a recent thing, and perhaps it hasnt been made a requirement in all the states yet, but in Georgia it is a law requirement that all women 18-35 get tested for chlamidia, HPV, and I believe a couple of other STDs. They use the smear to test for those.
