Republicans stance on helping people?

Asked by fau 2 months ago, 7 answers.

I'm supposed to look through speeches given by both parties during the national convention and find places where they talk about improving people's lives in various ways, including the poor, children, elderly, marginalized, veterans, etc

I've found a...

bunch in the democrats regarding universal health care, benefits for veterans, gay rights, and early education but I am having trouble finding the same on the Republican side... they mostly seem to be praising McCain's time as a POW and talking about tax cuts, and choices for health care and education...

Does anyone know exactly how these choices are supposed to come about? Exactly what do they plan on doing about health care and education (because out of the 8 speeches I've been through, I cant find one that goes into details...)

All McCain did was point at people and chuckle.
And call them "my friends"
Palin talked about lipstick and bulldogs.
And how shameful it was for Obama to help
people in Chicago.

The republican stance on helping people is: Sorry Charlie, you're on you're own.

Unless you are among the wealthiest in this country, the republicans don't give a rat's a$$ about you...

        Simply a Rose to brighten your day,
        And maybe lessen the cares in your way;
        And also, too, to help you to know,
        That in knowing you, many others grow!

I don't think McCain or Palin got into details of the How of what they plan to do. I think those details are being reserved for the debates.

wow you guys really are persuaded by the media. Mccain (republicans) have talked about tort reform. The democrats who are linked to the Bar Assc. and get donations from lawyers for their campaign runs, don't support it, republicans do. If we put caps on "pain and suffering " in malpractice suits, healthcare costs would go down because insurance's wouldn't have to pay all these frivolous lawsuits meaning more people could afford healthcare. This is a much better solution than universal healthcare (which democrats support) which would cause the middle and upper class to be taxed more. If universal healthcare occurred, hospitals would be flooded by thousands of people, you could never reserve an appointment, and the budget for universal healthcare would skyrocket. Just another government plan like social security that will go bankrupt. Look at the comparisons for clinton's tax rates and bush's. the majority of people paid lower taxes under bush.
