what is the standard % rate for a realtor to charge to sell a home?

6%, but if there is a buyer's and a seller's agent, the fee will be 3% to each realtor.

most of the time it is 6% but depending on the house value it can go up to 15%

Ummm, is themora an advertisement?? remember when buying or selling your home, use a "Realtor." They/we are held to a higher code of ethics for basically the same fees. 6% is the national average right now.
