How do I get rid of this weird msn virus?

Okay, so my friend accidentally sent me this virus through msn messenger
it says "this picture really looks like you!" with a link
of course I opened it, downloaded it
and then, oops, VIRUS
it opened all of my contacts that were online and sent it to...

them ON ITS OWN
they opened it, sent it to everyone, and so on
my avast scanner caught it and I moved it to my chest
but every time I start my computer, it says there's a virus!
my friend was going to take it off for me through remote access or whatever, but he had to go
I really dont know what to do!
where did it come from???
I feel really bad because I helped spread it to all of my friends and all of their friends and so on.
How do I get rid of this virus???

Yes I had this virus on my old computer, it's so horrible!
I dont know where it came from, and it's a nasty virus, I hate how it sends it to all your contact automatically on its own. It's really really awful.
And I'm not sure how you can get rid of it. You need to keep scanning your computer and try and clear it. What anti-virus program do you use? Do you just have a windows scanner?

Ok, I've researched into it slightly. It appears to be a very famous 'hooking' virus. Go onto this website. It helps to remove msn viruses, I'm not sure if this specific virus is on there but it may help

well you use avast.
its moved to the bin or "chest"
just delete it from there.
I had the same virus its really annoying.
