I am going to be playing my flute today in a concert like thing. I have played this piece a million times before and I know how to play it really well. I don't know why, but I feel really nervous. I need help now I have to leave in a couple of hours.

First of all, it's completely normal to feel nervous.
I'm a singer, and I know that no matter how many times you practice, it's still scary sometimes to peform in front of other people.
I've learned a lot of techniques to keep my mind on my performance, and not on the audience.
It's learning how to be in a certain state of mind, basically.
When you're performing, no matter how nervous you may be, ACT CONFIDENT.
That is the number one rule.
If people think you're not confident in your flute playing abilities, they will expect you to mess up, only making things worse.
My advice to you is to act like it's just another practice, and do what you normally do.
Just put yourself in that frame of mind.

Be confident, you'll be fine - you've put in tons of practice and you already know you play it well - maybe just before time, get by yourself and play the most difficult part - then get in there and smoke 'em !! - Merry Christmas !!

When I used to be in Piano Recitals.. I used to get really nervous before I went out on stage... I would get so nervous I would GAG! Even though I had the piece completely memorized and I practiced it untill I couldnt feel my fingers anymore... But I always realized that after I got on stage.. I was completely fine. And not so nervous once I got started.. after awhile of recitals.. I seemed to get the hang of it and realized that if I had COMPLETE confidence in myself and my capabilites I wasnt as nervous..
but yes.. Its good to be nervous- you are human
