With my phone, I had to install some software for the computer to register & synch the phone. Did the razr come with a software installation CD? If so, then run that first before the computer will recognize it. If the phone didn't come with an installation disk, I'd chech motorola's web site to see if the have software you can download for your computer to hook the phone up to it.
What you do is you go onto motorola site and they have software you can order. It is called motorola phone tools. I have it and it works great. I can use the internet on my phone on my computer and download my pictures and videos. I can also download my contacts and pretty much everything else. Here is a link. I am asuming that you already have a usb cable so you can just download the software for only $34.99 http://direct.motorola.com/ens/MPT/MPT_home.asp?

Hope that helps!

How do I hook up my motorola razr to the computer?
How do I hook up my motorola Razr to the computer? It has AT&T service. But when I plug it into the computer it doesn't read that my phone is plugged in. What should I do for it to read my phone. I just got my phone about a week ago. It is a Razr v3....
Just so you know.
