One really good explanation for this, as an example, the science category:
http://www.funadvice.com/in...
is also our newest category (we just added it ~ a month ago)...and as a result, it hasn't accumulated enough questions to pick up steam, etc.
What tends to happen is once a given topic starts to generate a lot of new visitors, we tend to get repeat questions, or close repeats, etc, or just more questions that are slight variations on the same topic.
Love & relationships is our biggest category, 33% of the questions are there. Also, for the first 2 years we had the site, we had 5 categories, all of which are now in "love & relationships"...and it wasn't until 2006 that we started really trying to broaden the spectrum of what we have & what type of content gets discussed, talked about, etc.
The more you ask in a given category, the more likely it will be that category starts to pick up more momentum for those topics.
Hope that helps, and thanks for joining the site
You might notice that I asked questions on fuzzy logic, robots, etc...not on the Jonas Brothers...but then, I'm 31, and I'm the youngest of the three founders of the site.

Quick question
This site does seem a little teen oriented. For example there's no one asking questions about stuff maybe seen on the science channel etc. A lot of the questions aren't more deep then something about the "jonas brothers" or whomever.
Is there...
particularly a reason for this? I'm not trying to aggervate you, just wondering.
However I just joined this site yesterday, and haven't explored it much, but enough to see what I have observed. If that makes any sense at all.
