Question for the christians

Tattooed Mommy Asked by mandyloo about 1 month ago, 93 answers.

Many people believe that homosexuality is a choice and is an abomination in the eyes of god. Well, that topic is debatable enough as it is, but what if a person is born with both the male and female reproductive organs? If being homosexual is really a...

sin, wouldn't a hermaphrodite be sinning either way because they possess both organs?

Another question. The argument was brought up that god is perfect and would never allow someone to be born homosexual because he doesn't make mistakes. But if God would create someone with both reproductive organs, is it really that farfetched to think that maybe some homosexuals were born the way the are?

You are the main type of person that I wrote this question about. You can't prove a thing. All of your information is incorrect. Scientist do reasearch and are un-biast. There are plenty of religious scientist as well that have proved that people can be born gay.
You have no clue about the real world, because your religion has blinded you.

Well for starters, if god was so perfect, he would make sure no one was born with both male and female reproductive organs! They would be 'sinning', too, I guess.. even though being gay shouldn't be a sin...
I'm an atheist, but I still wanted to answer, btw, haha.

I just want to see what they think about this. Seeing as how this question is created out of things they themselves have said.

God is perfect, and no one was born gay it's proven that people turn gay because of lack of authority from the same gender or abuse from the same gender. God however made people with both reproductive organs because that's what he did. You can question it, but I believe that that person will know in their heart what they truly are, gay or not gay they will know.

Where is this proof? Also how is that an argument. You didn't prove anything.
If the person has both reproductive organs, and it has sex with a man or a woman, either way it is having a homosexual relationship.
Also, people are born gay. It's not a choice.

I would feel just tad arrogant, imposing MY conception of perfection into what "God's" might be...that said, I can't accept another human's view of what might be perfection, either...including the Bible...

I don't believe being gay, is a choice...millions of gays give "living a lie" the old college try...marry, have children, do what is considered "normal"...only to discover what is "normal" for them, is not hetrosexuality...no choice there...a simple "coming to terms with self"...More power to'em!!!

Well my arguemnt to this would be, if this person (because thats what the are not an 'it' like you refered to them) was born like every1 else and grew up to make the choice of not becoming a believer in God it really doesnt matter who they sleep with, they are a sinner simple as. but if they choose to become a believer in God then, it does get abit tricky. there are two things they could prob do that would be ok in the eyes of the Lord (that I can see, its not wrote in the Bible so dont quote me on it.). 1. they could choose not to be with man or woman if they werent 100% sure which was right or 2. they could choose one or the other and stick too it.

But really and truely what I believe, and not forcing it on anyone in anyway at all is, That person if they chose to serve God, would no what they are no matter what genitles they are born with.. God made them the way they are for a reason dont no what it would be. and God is perfect, we humans arnt, theres a difference.

Sorry about the use of the word "it", I was in a rush and it was rude of me.
However though, even if they choose one sex to be with, it would still be homosexuality either way you look at it.
Whether they believed themselves to be homosexual would be irrelevant, if they are having homosexual realtions, to christians that is still a sin. Do you see what I'm saying?
That's like saying a man who has sex with men, but who says he is not a homesexual, is not sinning. Which to christian's is not right.
I also don't understand why God would put someone here and expect them to never be with another human being. To be asexual. That's absurd to me. Why would God punish someone like that.

*** God is perfect, and no one was born gay it's proven that people turn gay because of lack of authority

If this were true, homosexuality would be a uniquely human behavior. But it isn't. It's widespread among many species. You have totally ignored the issue of hermaphrodites. We *know* that sexual differentiation goes awry in hermaphrodites, but religious bigots totally ignore that and refuse to deal with the obvious conclusion; sexuality is a continuum, rather than being binary.

Though the great majority of the time, it results in heterosexuality, it does not always.

It Is possible and it is true. No one just decides to up and be gay. Why would people decide to be something that they are hated for? That they are beaten up for? That they are disriminated against? That they have their rights taken away (such as marriage)? Please tell me how someone decides this. Your ridiculous. You should really do your research, there's been so many studies done on it, and it's been proven that people are born gay.

you do have a choice to be gay or not, you do choose it and research, not all research is correct, not all research is the truth, most researchers are probably sinners anyways, so do you really think they are going to say they have a choice NO, God is perfect, HE cannot sin, dont you people not realize the devil works too, its a constant battle between God and the devil, it wont end til, Christ comes back, God doesn make mistakes, we dont live in a perfect world, stuff happens, if we lived in a perfect world, God wouldn had to send his son, and we'd all have a perfect body b/c of SIN, diseases and deformedity (sorry dont know how to spell it) has come into the world, including people bein born of 2 sexes, see, what sin has done to the world, bad things hapen b/c there is also sin, thanks to adan and eve, we have to live with it b/c of what human did, til Christ comes back

I believe people ARE born gay...I can't begin to count how many gay women and men who have told me they KNEW they were "different" at 7, 8 10 years old...long before hormones and active sexuality kick in...

"you do have a choice to be gay or not, you do choose it and research, not all research is correct, not all research is the truth, most researchers are probably sinners anyways,""

LMAO! This is one of the funniest things I've read to date on this site. Well, despite their heathen ways, I'd say most researchers have done a pretty good job providing you with the modern comforts and conveniences you enjoy every day. Anyway, when you say people have a choice to be gay or not, what are you basing that on? Your own research?

"God doesn make mistakes, we dont live in a perfect world, stuff happens, if we lived in a perfect world,"

If a perfect God did exist, it would not be possible for an imperfect universe to exist. A perfect, all-powerful god would be incapable of creating beings that are themselves capable of imperfection. The idea of a supreme, moral deity is so ridiculous that one wonders how it's even possible modern people can believe such nonsense...but I'm wandering off topic...

"we'd all have a perfect body b/c of SIN, diseases and deformedity (sorry dont know how to spell it) has come into the world, including people bein born of 2 sexes,"

The view that hermaphrodites are the result of a disease or deformity is based on cultural perception, nothing else. Hermaphrodites are actually admired in some cultures. But, as toadaly pointed out, sexuality is more complicated than just XX and XY chromosomes. It's a matter of genetic variation. In some species, the reproductive cycle actually depends on hermaphrodites. Obviously, such variations can't be categorized as "right" or "wrong". They are what they are, and their interaction with environmental pressures and systems plays a role in determining how often they arise.

There's a vast body of evidence that homosexuality is determined genetically and developmentally. It's not a 'choice' any more than which hand is dominant is a choice.
