Is 20mg of prozac a lot?

Is 20mg of prozac a lot?
The doctors put me on it because of my depesstion..
They think I'm bipolar

doctors perscribe medications dosages according to weight height etc. they want to make sure the medication works but its not an overdose

uhm they put you on it for depression or bipolar?
because if they think you're bipolar they wouldnt put you on the same medications...
stuff for depression doesnt work on people who are bipolar...

I said they think I am. But for now I'm trying prozac for DEPRESSION

Also on my info sheet it says

"helps depresstion, OCD, Bi Polar"

again... you either have depression or bipolar... you cant be both... and if they suspect bipolar they usually dont use SSRIs because they can trigger manic episodes (I just think it's odd they would use an SSRI)

and 20mg is the usual starting dosage...

20mg is usually what you start off with its not much.
Im on 100mg citalopram.

check out the side effects of any medication youre on. meds are dangerous and can sometimes cause more problems when they help. prozac especially in young people can cause suicidal tendencies. when I was using prozac I had more suicide attempts than when I wasnt being treated. be careful.

20 mg is pretty low...its a basis to start with and yes, you can have bi-polar and still struggle with depression as well...
