New Jersey Provisional License:

If you pass the road test, you will be issued a provisional license. This license allows you to drive unsupervised, and you must hold it for at least one year. During this period, state law mandates that you always wear a seat belt and never use a cell phone while driving. If you have never been licensed to drive in this or any other state, the MVC will consider you a probationary driver and monitor your driving for two years. Call the MVC for requirements.

Good luck !!
