Prom dress help for my sister

Okay, my sister is almost 17 and PROBABLY going to her junior prom. I would just like to know what kind of dress styles are popular, colors most teen girls like, ect.
I don't live at home, and did not go to either of my proms, and my sister doesn't...

really have any female to give her advice (she asked me to help her pick one out), but she will be coming to stay with me for a few days, and I would just like some ideas.

When is her prom?? You need to pick colors that match with the season. DO NOT GET EVERYTHING THE SAME COLOR!!! VARIATIONS!! (EX: IF YOU HAVE A LIGHT BLUE DRESS WITH SILVER OR SOMETHING, DONT WEAR BLUE SHUES, A BLUE OVERCOAT AND A BLUE HANDPURSE...THAT WOULD LOOK CRAZY!)

Winter- Light...Blue, White, silver,...a long gown with a trench coat to go over and a silver handpurse shoes to match dress...

Spring-Light...Yellow, green, peach, pink, baby blue, purple...with a sash/scarf possibly...make sure your extras are suitable for the weather

Summer- Sun dresses!!! yellow white,,,bright colors!!

Fall- Red, Orange Yellow Brown a nice fluffy overcoat

LIGHTSKINNED, DARK COLORS MAKE YOU LOOK PALER! STICK TO LIGHT COLORS!

My little sister said yellow is big this year. She is a junior. I say check out what's in the window at the mall for whats popular, then go dismiss those obnoxious ideas of popularity. Find a dress that is figure flattering and makes her feel like a million bucks. Who cares what color it is. Wear saran wrap... just have fun and feel sexy.
